Adding a Contact Form 7 email submission to your quiz is easy. There are a lot of steps listed below, but that’s because I didn’t want to miss one. It’s very simple.
- Get Contact Form 7 (downloaded separately, but free).
- Install Contact Form 7.
- Activate Contact Form 7.
- Get mTouch Quiz Contact Form 7 Addon.
- Install mTouch Quiz Contact Form 7 Addon.
- Activate mTouch Quiz Contact Form 7 Addon.
- Create a new Contact Form 7.
- Click “Generate Tag” and select a new “Text area“. Note: This is NOT the same as a “Text field” make sure you add the “Text area” which is several options BELOW “Text field”. (The addon will automatically fill in this field with quiz results)
- In the new “class (optional)” field, type the letters mtq
- Add any additional fields you want your quiz takers to complete. Usually people like to ask for names and contact info. There are lots of advanced fields you can add with Contact Form 7.
- Save your form.
- Note at the top of the form it says “Copy this code and paste it into your post, page or text widget content.” Make note of the id number after the words contact-form-7. IT is probably a 3 digit number.
- In the mTouch Quiz “Manage Quiz” page, select “Edit Quiz Options”
- In the “Quiz Options”, there will be place to put the id number (probably 1 if this is your first form).
- Add the variable %%FORM%% to your “Final Screen” section of the Quiz Options. If you want the form to only appear conditionally, include the %%FORM%% variable in the %%RATING%% customization.
- Set up any email notification you want to receive in the “Forms” “Notifications.” The notifications option appears under the name of your quiz on the “Edit Forms” page. You have to mouse over it to get it to appear.
